Her music has been described as "uplifting", "eloquent", "unique" and "healing" to many audiences.Freeana is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music where she majored in viola performance and minored in saxophone. Freeana was a member of the Rochester Philharmonic while still a student and also toured with them and played at various venues including Carnegie Hall. After graduation, she wanted to explore the music inside of her. In support of this she committed much time to writing and improvising freely for many years. The instruments she was drawn to were the recorder, voice and dumbek. Freeana possesses a prodigious talent on her alto recorder, every note and phrase singing, a continuation of the magical, lilting voice she possesses. Her music is truly very inspiring to hear.

BREAKFAST BUFFET by the SEA at the SEAGARDEN RESTAURANT
BREAKFAST BUFFET by the SEA With Brian Rolland in the Sea Garden Restaurant
May 24th. from 9:00 a.m. till NOON
Brian Rolland released The Tide’s In, a highly acclaimed jazz-pop release featuring Rolland’s beautiful acoustic guitar lines…expertly played and defined by some of the finest craftsmanship found in the independent music community.
The Tide's In debuted at #3 on the New Age/World/Ambient Charts for April 2008, and has been creeping up on the College Radio Top 10 World and Jazz charts over recent months.
The Cambridge Massachusetts native is a well-traveled soul and along the way, he received some fine training from some very special mentors before he released his recorded works.
Brian Rolland gives his listeners a nice variety, a colorful palette of New World Jazz with splashes of Rock, Classical, Spanish, New Age, Folk, Blues and Pop. Brian uses the nylon string guitar primarily and the steel string and electric guitar, plays the piano, and on occasion, he offers some vocals. All of his talents are brought forth with strength on The Tide’s In.
Brian is a seasoned and well-schooled jazz musician giving the discerning jazz lover and guitar aficionados a reason to celebrate. Right from the opening track, he creates a nice healing atmosphere with intricate, soft and inviting guitar lines featuring the golden touch of some lovely female vocals that encourages Brian’s guitar to step deeper into the flowing waters on some select tracks. The journey is one of enchantment and enlightenment through music. Only a talented and insightful musician can create music such as this and Brian Rolland consistently displays the ability to make this happen throughout The Tide’s In.

North of Boston Live Music with Breakfast by the Sea
"Rick Gottlieb in concert on May 17th 9 AM to noon, is an acoustic musician, playing guitar for more than 40 years. Last year he released his first CD of original music and traditional favorites entitled, "Nobody's Fool", produced by the well-known artist, Steve Rapson. Rick's voice and music is very reminiscent of James Taylor's style, but he plays in a number of different genres, including Bossa Nova, Contemporary Folk, Traditional, and Great American Songbook Standards. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of his music is that he plays virtually all of his music in the non-standard guitar tuning (Most guitarists play in the standard tuning of EADGBE) of DADGAD, a tuning usually associated with celtic music. Rick has been able to adapt this harp-like tuning to new uses and genres to beautiful effect. His music is sure to be a delight that you won't want to miss in The Sea Garden!"

Sunday Brunch North of Boston
Without a doubt, Seaward Inn will be this season's ultimate DESTINATION BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE North of Boston.Capitalizing on the most prestigious location in Rockport, phenomenal ocean views, and great Breakfast cuisine, we are now adding a diverse mixture of live music. It just doesn't get much better than this!
Last season, on a "whim", we launched our SUNDAY MORNING LIVE concerts. Despite lean times, it was a huge success. This Season we are picking it up several notches. Instead of only approaching local talent we invited accomplished musicians near and far to SHOWCASE their MUSIC at the Seaward Inn for our Sunday Morning Live Series.
The response was overwhelming!!!
We have had so much talent from which to choose! Most of the musicians are on tour... Some from as far away as California. Many are singer/song writers, acoustic guitarists, composers, jazz, blues, concert pianists, world folk, minstrels, and Celtic folk. We have soloists, quartets, a renaissance duo, as well as acapella pop (the grooviest foursome you've ever had the pleasure of hearing).
As many are giving back during these difficult economic times, we've decided to offer these concerts free of a cover charge during our Sunday Morning Buffet by the Sea.
We will kick off our Sunday Morning Live Series with a MOTHER'S DAY JAZZ BRUNCH featuring the Barbara and Al Boudreau Jazz Trio. Al on drums/vocals with Brabara and Jack Senier, songsmith, on piano. This is Jazz at its best.
Please check our BLOG for upcoming Sunday concerts, photos and background information on these artists.
Reservations are highly recommended as our Sunday Morning Live Series is certain to become the DESTINATION BREAKFAST EXPERIENCE on the North Shore!
