SUNDAY MORNING LIVE SERIES - 2009 Season Finale

Seaward Inn's Sunday Morning Live Series -2009 Season Finale was held on September 27th, with a jam session performed by Lori Diamond, Fred Abatelli, Stuart and Lyn Ferguson and Phil Punch. This was three hours of non stop music at its best! Lori, Fred, Lyn and Stuart were on vocals, piano and guitar while Phil Punch played percussion. The talent and professionalism of these musicians was phenomenal.
Rave reviews are still coming our way calling this one of the best and most entertaining concerts ... "way over the top"!
As a result, we have persuaded Lori Diamond and Fred Abatelli to open our 2010 SUNDAY MORNING LIVE SERIES with a MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH performance.
Please view our SUNDAY MORNING LIVE SERIES - 2009 video created by Tom Wopperer and Kai Cameron-Gilsey.

NORTH OF BOSTON * SORRY MUSIC * SEPTEMBER 6th.

"Sorry" is a four member folk rock group who come together for the love of playing music and the enjoyment of each other’s company. The group consists of Allison Scobie lead vocals, Paul Egan drums, Phil Fleisher guitar vocals, Peter Miller guitar vocals and harmonica. The majority of the songs are original compositions with a few selected covers done in the "Sorry" style.

Each member of the band is a professional person with a family. They are two social workers, an architect and a member who is in publishing in the group. Our dreams no longer center on fame or fortune just the opportunity to pursue a creative endeavor outside of our usual roles and responsibilities. For us, the group is a shared space like a sandbox for grown ups where we play with guitars instead of shovels, drums in lieu of pails in order to pursue our own sense of serious fun.

Our name derives simply from the good manners we learned from our parents and teachers. When we practice and someone makes an error the person responsible more often than not murmurs an apology into the microphone. Hence, we became, "Sorry" with the hope being that after hearing our music the listener will be anything but…

Live Music July 19th with Breakfast Buffet bythe Sea, North of Boston

Born and raised on Boston's North Shore, Kevin G. Moore has been writing and performing acoustic folk music since the age of thirteen. He has been featured at coffeehouses, clubs, bars and festivals from Harvard Square to Alaska and points in between.

Kevin's areas of specialty are Traditional and Contemporary Folk, Singer-Songwriter, Blues, Americana and Roots music. He has finger picking style that can be either quick & happy, or soft & soothing; with a pick, he brings melody lines forward with rhythmic & percussive strums.
Kevin is a member of the Alaska Songwriters Guild and the Rhode Island Songwriters Association. In 1995 he wrote the official song for Boston's Child Advocacy Day, "Listen to the children". In 2004 he wrote a song for Donate Life America, "Gift of Life". In 2008 he was nominated as Rhode Island best male vocalist and best songwriter of Americana music. He has self produced 2 CD's and is currently working on his third. He is also in the process of signing with Wild Oats Records in Nashville, TN.
Kevin, who sounds like Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan and Jim Croce, will be playing selections of traditional and original acoustic songs for Sunday Morning Live at the Seaward Inn. His music complements the beautiful view of the ocean as well as great food.

Live Music with Breakfast by the Sea North of Boston

DIANE TARAZ (http://www.dianetaraz.com/) will be performing Sunday Morning Live July 12th. at the Seaward Inn from 9:00 a.m. until Noon.
For over 30 years Diane Taraz has been creating her own songs and breathing new life into traditional ones. Her velvety voice blends beautifully with her elegant guitar arrangements, and she also plays the lap dulcimer, a folk instrument with a lovely antique sound. Several reviewers have compared her vocal powers to those of Joan Baez and Judy Collins, and the Boston Globe writes, "her lovely soprano has a deep shimmer and calm, honest phrasing."

On her half-dozen CDs and in concert, Diane sings her own award-winning songs and puts a unique spin on old favorites such as "Heard It Through the Grapevine" and "Since I Fell For You." Her material stretches from James Taylor classics to Celtic ballads and French and British melodies. Her special love of maritime music fits perfectly with the Seaward Inn's ocean view.

Lori Diamond
LoriDiamond.net

Originally from the Boston area, Lori is a veteran pianist, singer/songwriter. Throughout the nineties, she was playing keys and singing harmonies for the Boston-based bands, Bee Charmers(acoustic pop/rock) and Upper Level Garage(Motown/blues). Since the release of her solo CD, Bound, in 2003, Lori has spent the better part of this decade performing as a soloist in the New England area. Honeymoon Adventure at the Seaward Inn

Dawn had not yet broken when a young couple, staying at the Seaward Inn for their Honeymoon ventured out for a walk on Cape Hedge Beach. They maneuvered around large rocks, strewn onto the ramp as if nothing more than small pebbles...a reminder of the ocean's ferocity.

Emerging daylight unveiled nearby lobster boats tending their pots. Screeching seagulls circled around demanding any old bait being thrown overboard. In the distance tuna boats could be seen cruising by for a day at sea.

Kicking off their shoes the couple ran barefoot to the low tide mark and began walking the beach. They turned over rocks discovering small marine life and different forms of seaweed. Perhaps what attracted them most were the many odd shaped and multi-hued pebbles in the sand. They compared each, delighting in their discoveries, reminiscent of children opening gifts at Christmas.

Wet sand massaged their feet as they weaved in and out of the gentle, very cold, ocean waves. The salty sweet aroma of the sea permeated the air, adding to the rich adventure of their morning. Despite their fun, the invigorating morning had begun to take it's toll...they were starving! The fear of missing Seaward Inn's fabulous destination breakfast made them come to an abrupt stop. Laughing at the resemblance of their grumbling stomachs to the seagulls angry demands for food, they quickly turned and headed back. THEY DID NOT WANT TO MISS BREAKFAST AT THE SEAWARD INN'S SEA GARDEN RESTAURANT!

Still scanning for unusual stones, they began a slow jog back. As they neared the ramp, they saw something sparkle at the waters edge. Racing to pick it up, they discovered a very special charcoal colored pebble with speckles throughout, perfectly shaped as a HEART! They were awestruck. What a treasure!

Bubbling with excitement, they returned to the Inn where they shared their experience with other guests, while enjoying a hearty and well deserved breakfast. The experience, and of course, nature's gift, the heart, were treasures; souvenirs unlike any other, from their honeymoon at the Seaward Inn.
